Kick the Addiction

Ready to kick diet coke? Awesome! I have a few suggestions. If green tea is too bitter (also it's caffeinated so it really shouldn't be ingested habitually); I really like Nettle Tea. Yes, it's stinging nettle the stuff that would sting the crap out of you in the woods as a kid, or is lurking in the garden somewhere overgrown. It's one of the most nutritious herbs on earth; high in Vitamin C, Vit A, Calcium, Magnesium and Zinc. And it's freakin' tasty.

Once the nettle is exposed to heat from boiled water the "sting" is killed. So, prepare like any old tea and it's lovely. I have yet to find a person who doesn't like Nettle tea. It's good Iced or Hot:)...Also peppermint tea would be excellent, great for digestion, invigorating, flavorful and masks any tea your drinking that you don't like!:)

Lastly, I'd recommend juicing in the morning. This will help shore up the mineral imbalances created from addiction to diet soda (it really dose a doozie on you). Plus detoxify the artificial everything that it sadly contains.  I like chamomile tea too and you can buy all of these at almost any Kroger (natural section) these days, but they are usually cheaper online.

My last thought is Kombucha- GT's Brand Kombucha is available at most health food stores and it might help you to get your carbonation fix. Try the Synergy line to start; they have cranberry, strawberry, all the yummy stuff. It is higher in sugar obviously than herbal tea (but not too bad, 3-4 grams of sugar per serving. The benefits of Kombucha FAR out-way a little fruit sugar in my opinion. Kombucha is packed with enzymes, vitamins, minerals, amino acids and more. It's healing and wonderful support for digestion. Heres' a link for that too:) Read more on Kombucha here.
